#J-18808-LjbffrTexas Oncology is looking for a Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team at the Lakeway location (2300 Lohmans Spur, Suite 104, Lakeway, TX 78734). This full‑time position is Monday‑Friday 8:30 am‑5:00 pm with no weekends, call or major holidays.
This role can be Level 1, Level 2, or Senior based on candidate experience.
What Does the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) Do?Under general supervision, the RN provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Must recognize the physical, psychological, and spiritual aspects of care and participate in company‑wide quality initiatives. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
Responsibilities- Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices.
- Assess health status by interviewing patients regarding current status and medical history; assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and other instructional material; provide psychosocial support to patients and families.
- Facilitate clinical operations and patient care.
- Manage patient medication refill requests from the pharmacy telephone line and record the information in the patient chart.
- Facilitate and schedule consultations, pre‑testing, diagnostic tests or procedures, referrals, and future appointments for patients.
- Triage patient phone calls as needed and document relevant information in the patient's chart.
- Assist patients in locating available community resources.
- Act as a resource to LPN/LVNs and medical assistants.
The ideal candidate for the Clinic Registered Nurse (RN) will have the following background and experience:
Level 1- Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education; BSN preferred.
- RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in the practicing state.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- 0–3 years nursing experience, preferably at least one year in oncology.
- 3–5 years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred.
- Five years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology preferred.
