Compensation:

$18 - $20 hourly


Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safe and timely transportation of children and young adults to various destinations, including schools and medical appointments.
  • Assist passengers with boarding and disembarking, prioritizing their safety and comfort throughout the journey.
  • Maintain a clean and well-functioning vehicle by performing routine checks and promptly reporting any maintenance needs.
  • Communicate effectively with staff, caregivers, and residents to coordinate schedules and address any special needs.
  • Adhere to all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure a secure travel experience for all passengers.
  • Follow established safety protocols for transporting individuals with disabilities, ensuring their unique needs are met.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date logs of trips, mileage, and vehicle inspections in line with organizational policies.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in bus or commercial driving, especially with children or individuals with special needs.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English.
  • Knowledge of basic vehicle mechanics and maintenance procedures.
  • Experience working with children or in childcare settings is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with behavior management techniques and safety protocols for transporting individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to handle emergency situations calmly and effectively.
  • Valid driver's license for operating large vehicles; clean driving record required.

Casa Angelica is an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with Intellectual Disability, nestled on 12 beautifully manicured and gated acres at 5625 Isleta Blvd SW, Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States. We are proud to be the only Intermediate Care Facility in the state of New Mexico that serves children! Join our incredible and dynamic team in providing some of the most unique and rewarding care, serving medically fragile children and young adults. Our 24-hour facility is currently home to 16 wonderful individuals with intellectual disabilities.
