Mohs Histotechnician Greater Tampa Bay Area (Hiring in Pinellas, Hillsb, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus) Immediate opening for a full time capable, hardworking, team player, seeking an experienced Mohs Tech. The successful candidate will be stable, experienced, willing to work as a team and handle a variety of Mohs Histotechnician related duties. Duties and Responsibilities: • Perform tissue processing, embedding, cutting, staining, and coverslipping • Accession specimens • Perform cutting of control slides • Match slides with requisitions, double checking for accuracy • Perform tasks relating to troubleshooting and quality control as required • May perform other duties or special projects as required or as assigned by management • Maintain CLIA logs and procedure manual • Will cover the Dermatology Mohs lab and work alongside the Dermatology Mohs Surgeons and staff. • Performs STAT Mohs procedures (preparation and staining of patient tissues) prior to the microscopic study and diagnosis by the Mohs surgeon and/or Dermatopathologist. • Interacts with physicians, nurses, and other allied health individuals in a manner which is helpful in understanding test availability for the department. • Performs frozen sections, H&E staining, and immunohistochemical studies on frozen sections. • Helps problem-solve situations with co-workers, Mohs surgeons, and other staff members as needed. • Adhere to all policies and procedures in performing job duties and responsibilities • Uphold a culture of high-quality medical care, supportive work environment, and excellent patient experience • Perform other duties that may be necessary or in the best interest of the practice. Job Type: • Full-time. Experience Requirements: • One (1) + year experience in a medical setting, required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Requirements: • Knowledge of medical terminology – required • Prior EMA experience – preferred • Knowledge of sterile technique, anatomy, and medications • Detail oriented, professional attitude, reliable • Skillset to support the leadership of this function • Ability to follow or provide verbal & written instructions with sufficient grammar and spelling skills to avoid mistakes or misinterpretations
