Job description

Amazon Leo is Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite network. Our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet connectivity to customers beyond the reach of existing networks. From individual households to schools, hospitals, businesses, and government agencies, Amazon Leo will serve people and organizations operating in locations without reliable connectivity.

Key job responsibilities
Lead the software team to build and deploy the Amazon Leo Point of Presence software to deliver broadband internet service
Work with the product and business teams to define requirements, drive roadmap to leverage Amazon's AWS network resources, connect consumer and enterprise users to the public/private networks
Work with peer teams and customers to design suitable software systems and interfaces with underlying hardware to fulfill the Amazon Leo networking goals.
Develop a strategic plan for the growth of the team, both from a software and integrated mission outcomes perspective.
Hire & Develop a diverse team of software engineers and managers.
Aid in the design of mission critical systems in Amazon Leo.
Collaborate with your fellow team members to integrate various system elements, both hardware and software.
A day in the life
This role is for a Software Development Manager in the Amazon Leo PoP Software organization, responsible for driving the research & development, deployment and operation of the Amazon Leo Point of Presence software

You will own the roadmap and mission for Software and work with your customers to refine requirements, understand constraints, hire & grow your team and iteratively deliver value to our customers.
About the team
Within Amazon Leo, the Point of Presence team is responsible for connecting end users to the internet. The team works closely with the ground networking and AWS teams to design the network architecture, and with the payload and network software teams to deliver end to end service.
