Manager, Administration Manager The Division of Surgical Oncology is seeking a visionary andexperienced healthcare operational leader to serve as theAdministration Management Manager to lead the division. Thishigh-impact, highly visible role provides full administrativeoversight of the division. This position reports directly to the Division Chief of SurgicalOncology and will oversee an administrative supervisor who leads ateam of administrative assistants. In this role, the AdministrationManagement Manager will lead strategic planning, operationalexecution, and cross-functional partners to ensure alignment,continuity, and innovation in vascular care.

About the Division

The Division of Surgical Oncology includes Complex General SurgicalOncology, Breast Surgery, Melanoma, Gastrointestinal, Colorectal,Peritoneal, Advanced Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (AHPB) and EndocrineSurgery. This division works closely with the Huntsman CancerInstitute (HCI) and together, they lead robust clinical, research,and education programs that serve patients across the region. U ofU Health and HCI are patient focused centers distinguished bycollaboration, excellence, leadership and respect.

Responsibilities Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic & Operational Leadership Ability to network and forgestrong cross-functional relationships with stakeholders across theorganization, including physicians, department and divisionleadership, hospital leadership, and other key stakeholders. Dynamic and resilient leader able to rapidly adjust to change andevolving priorities. Strategic thinker/planner able to add valueto an organization that is beyond the accomplishment of day-to-daytasks. Implement organizational strategies to drive operationalexcellence. Assist in managing divisional activities within theuniversity, focusing on operational effectiveness. Assist inmanaging budgets and resource allocation within the division tosupport the organization's strategic objectives. Monitorperformance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and implementsolutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Assist thedivision with workforce operations matters.
  • Financial Management Support the division chief and financial leadto oversee the operating budget for the Division of SurgicalOncology, including monthly expenses andaccounting.
  • Clinical Program Oversight Worksclosely with the clinic managers within University of Utah Healthand the Huntsman Cancer Hospital for clinical work operating out ofthe Huntsman Cancer Hospital, University Hospital, FarmingtonHealth Center, Sugar House Health Center, and South Jordan HealthCenter. Support expansion of clinical programs across vascularsurgery and subspecialties.
  • Research Administration Provides support for research personnel inthe division and their mission.
  • Human Resources & Organizational Development Coordinates the hiring of anynew faculty, APCs, and staff. Once hired, supports new hires withlicensing/credentialing/onboarding to ensure a smooth transition tothe team. Manages all attending and APC licensing, credentialingand hospital appointments; ensures they are renewed in a timelymanner.

EQUIVALENCY STATEMENT: 1 year of higher educationcan be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience(Example: bachelor's degree = 4 years of directly related workexperience).
