Construction Project Executive/Manager

Construction Project Executive / Manager - Data Center Projects
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Project Executive/Manager to lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of large-scale data center construction projects. The ideal candidate will combine strong project management and construction expertise with deep knowledge of electrical systems for mission-critical facilities. This role is responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, subcontractors, quality, safety, and stakeholder communications to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full project lifecycle for data center construction projects from pre-construction through closeout, ensuring alignment with client requirements and operational needs.
  • Develop, maintain, and report on project schedules and budgets; manage cost control, forecasting, and change order processes to protect project profitability.
  • Coordinate, manage, and supervise subcontractors and construction teams, including electrical and mechanical trades, to ensure work meets design, quality, and safety standards.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, design teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders; facilitate regular project meetings and status updates.
  • Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical systems critical to data center operations, including UPS, switchgear, distribution, and grounding systems.
  • Manage procurement and vendor coordination for long-lead items, equipment deliveries, and subcontract scopes; evaluate vendor performance and drive timely resolution of issues.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; develop contingency plans and implement corrective actions to maintain schedule and quality.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and permit requirements; enforce site safety programs and best practices.
  • Prepare and review technical submittals, RFIs, shop drawings, and closeout documentation; ensure accurate as-built documentation and turnover packages.
  • Leverage estimating and project management tools (including Accubid, McCormick, Connest where applicable) to support estimating, scheduling, and resource planning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
  • Minimum 8+ years of progressive construction project management experience with a significant focus on data center or mission-critical facility projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in electrical systems for data centers and strong hands-on understanding of construction execution and methods.
  • Proven track record managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractor performance, and client relationships on large, complex construction projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools; PMP or equivalent certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency with construction/project software (e.g., MS Project, Procore); experience with Accubid, McCormick, and Connest is desirable.
  • Familiarity with telecommunications and mechanical systems in data centers is a plus (nice-to-have).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Working knowledge of building codes, electrical codes (NEC), NFPA standards, and OSHA safety requirements.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as required and a valid drivers license.
