Job description

Title:
Logistics Management Specialist
KBR is looking for a self-motivated established logistician with recent experience working in USAF acquisition and/or sustainment logistics, program management, leadership, or engineering specialties to join our team as a Logistics Management Specialist. This is not an entry level Logistics Management position.
This role directly supports the Missile Sustainment Division for the Air Launched Cruise Missile (ALCM) System Program Office (SPO) in managing program activities such as life cycle logistics program planning, proposal pricing, financial management, cost analysis, management techniques, documentation requirements, or equipment analysis. Candidate must exhibit capability in areas of production of planning documents, preparing and utilizing databases for cost analysis and financial management. Must apply expertise in DOD, Agency, and/or industry standards and engineering requirements, make recommendations to customer for changes to standards and requirements. May be the primary customer contact for assigned area of responsibility.
Roles and Responsibilities:
  • Research, organize, plan and administer various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, or maintenance/repair activities for one or more programs of moderate scope.
  • Research contractual documents, technical data, customer usage data, customer maintenance practices, customer operation characteristics, and related reports for assigned contracts to determine spares provisioning or maintenance/repair requirements.
  • Develop logistics plans in order to enhance distribution of goods and supplies.
  • Identifies, prioritizes, and assesses key logistics assets and infrastructures.
  • Assists in the development of policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure quality and cost control.
  • Conducts distribution and network studies, monitors inventory and examines requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times.
  • Candidate must be knowledgeable in depot and field maintenance and supportability concepts, Performance Work Statements (PWS), Statements of Work (SOW), Data Items Descriptions (DIDs), test procedures and plans, obsolescence and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS), risk management, and end item delivery and installation.
  • Navigating Database Software - Ability to use database software to find records, sort, review, edit, print, and other functions. Ability to use built-in forms and reports in a database. Able to explore software applications and learn various functions and features. Able to write queries and reports using available tools; copying data into Excel or other formats for further analysis. Ability to use computer applications in support of planning, designing, analysis, and reporting.
  • Logistics Management - Knowledgeable of many logistics concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, techniques, materials. Knowledgeable of logistics issues and best practices sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of aerospace systems or devices. Knowledgeable of logistics practices and procedures as they pertain to sustainment, modification, logistics, supply chain, manpower, funding, production and maintenance management principles, concepts, policies, and systems.
  • Candidate must have the ability to multi-task, provide clear and well-organized verbal and written communication, problem solve, think critically and creatively, and advise management.
  • Conduct other logistics related duties as assigned.
  • Research program activities such as life cycle logistics program planning, proposal pricing, financial management, cost analysis, management techniques, documentation requirements, or network analysis.
  • Exhibits capability in areas of production planning documents, preparing, and utilizing databases for cost analysis and financial management.

Basic Qualifications:
  • This position is 100% in office in an embedded role inside the program office and will require interfacing with government and contractor personnel.

  • Bachelors' Degree OR minimum of five (5) years' experience in multiple areas of military related acquisition, sustainment logistics or program management
  • Active Secret clearance
  • Use of MS Office Suite; specifically, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word

Preferred Qualifications:
  • USAF Equipment Specialist expertise
  • Knowledge and experience with developing life cycle logistics strategies to include initiating, reviewing, developing, and implementing activities to accomplish service life extensions and execution of test and evaluation.
  • Knowledge and experience serving as a program manager of acquisition programs to include responsibilities regarding cost, schedule, technical, and performance.
  • Knowledge and experience with utilizing DoD and USAF weapon system, logistics, supply and/or maintenance systems.
  • Certified APDP Level II or III in Life Cycle Logistics or industry equivalent, within the past five years. Extensive knowledge and experience in managing and executing program management and/or logistics Acquisition Category (ACAT) III acquisition programs or Research, Development, Test, and Evaluation (RDT&E) programs.
  • Master's degree and/or relevant DoD Military Service Professional Military Education (PME)
  • Knowledge of Tinker AFB and its mission is a plus.
  • USAF System Program Office experience and/or aircraft experience is a plus.
