Job description

Playa Bowls is New Jersey's Original Acai Shop, and our mission is to bring super fruit bowls to the masses using only the freshest, highest quality ingredients while providing a fantastic in-store brand experience. What began as a pair of blenders, a patio table, and a fridge has flourished into 100+ stores, thousands of employees, and a mission to lead communities in healthy, sustainable living.

As the General Manager, you will be doing a variety of tasks include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. It is required to work 40 weekly hours on site.

QUALITY CONTROL

  • Checking products to ensure consistency and quality
  • Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, and garnishing and presentation of food to make sure it’s up to Company Standards
  • Maintain food and equipment inventories
  • Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity
  • Review work procedures and operational problems to determine ways to improve service, performance, or safety
  • Arrange for equipment maintenance and repairs, and coordinate a variety of services

CUSTOMER SERVICE/SATISFACTION

  • Organize and direct worker training programs, resolve personnel problems, hire new staff, and evaluate employee performances
  • Investigate and resolve customer complaints regarding food quality, service, and accommodations

ADMINISTRATIVE

  • Schedule staff hours utilizing appropriate systems/software and assign duties to ensure economical use of food and timely preparation
  • Personnel and Human Resources Duties
  • Maintain Cost of Goods and labor percentages 
  • Cash management duties - including bank deposits and change swap
