We are mobilizing a team of leaders and subject matter experts within HDR to support a multi-year technology development and implementation project. These leaders and subject matter experts will be fully utilized in this technology implementation, creating several permanent openings within our team to backfill these individuals in supporting day-to-day accounting & finance activities and teams.

The Accounting Systems Director will lead teams responsible for overseeing the Oracle enterprise performance management (EPM) application and scheduling and running certain weekly and month-end Oracle enterprise resource planning (ERP) system processes. The Accounting Systems Director will also assist in cross-functional continual process improvement of business processes that involve technology usage and optimization, as opportunities are identified.

• Maintain prioritization and focus of teams with a balance that supports both day-to-day responsibilities and longer-term organization goals, including continual improvement initiatives.
• Focus on building teams, inspiring and developing team members, and developing high-performing resilient teams who achieve results with professionalism, collaboration, and trust.
• Maintain clarity in team roles, responsibilities and expected results, with key performance indicators (KPIs) in place to demonstrate results
• Identify and implement strategic initiatives and special projects across accounting & finance that aid in teams’ adoption and usage of technology within their business process to achieve results. It would be expected that initiatives like this would be co-sponsored by the Accounting Systems Director and relevant business process owner(s).
• With an eye for process optimization and technology usage, constructively challenge business process owners to consider alternative ways of accomplishing business objectives with technology and/or alternative business processes
• Maintain team resilience through a combination of tactics, including maintenance of desktop procedures, cross-training efforts, succession planning, etc.
• Lead with curiosity, openness, and a willingness to consider diverse perspectives and innovative solutions.
• Navigate stressful situations with professionalism, composure, and respect.
• Support and oversee certain additional shared service functions who utilize technology as a core component to their service delivery.

• Utilize knowledge of HDR business processes, stakeholder needs, and system process dependencies to maintain quality control in alignment with business requirements.
• Maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) that demonstrate whether system processes are occurring accurately, timely, and in alignment with stakeholder needs.
• Proactive identification of risks relative to system processes, and implementation of quality control checks, contingency plans, and processes changes to mitigate these risks.
• Oversee month-end system processing and quality control checkpoints to ensure financial data is produced accurately, timely, and with strong clear communication to stakeholders.
• Utilize business acumen to oversee quality control through the performance of certain quality control verification procedure.
• Prepare risk and contingency plans for system processing issues that may occur during month-end close or other critical periods, and maintain readiness to implement.

• Oversee technical and functional support of Oracle EPM applications, including Planning and Budgeting (PBC), Profitability and Cost Management (PCM), Financial Close & Consolidation (FCC), Account Reconciliation System (ARC), Tax Reporting (TRC), and Enterprise Data Management (EDM)
• Utilize knowledge of HDR operations and accounting & finance processes and objectives to oversee team prioritization in alignment with long-term application sustainability and stakeholder business needs
• Maintain quality control by ensuring enhancements are developed with clear requirements, sufficient admin and user testing, and have adequate communication and change management components in place to support user adoption.
• Provide thought leadership, collaboration, and resource support to the various tools, data sets, technologies, and processes that utilize data from the EPM applications, including Snowflake.

• Bachelor’s degree in management information systems, accounting & finance, or directly related field.
• At least 10 years of corporate accounting, public accounting, ERP processing and administration, internal audit or other directly related experience.
• 5+ years managing teams, preferably managing managers with multiple direct reports.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Oracle Cloud ERP, Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Computing Professional (CPP) or similar designation, or master’s degree.
• Proven ability to balance strategic concepts and leadership with support provided to ensure consistent execution of tasks, procedures, and technological or business changes.
• Strong ability to prioritize competing deadlines and lead teams through high-volume close, reporting, and audit cycles.
• Comfortable operating in a dynamic environment with evolving priorities, system changes, and cross-functional dependencies.
• Strong judgment and decision-making skills, with the ability to identify risks, evaluate alternatives, and elevate matters appropriately.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex accounting, system, or process matters clearly to stakeholders with varying levels of technical and business acumen.
• Strong business acumen and ability to understand how accounting and system activities impact financial reporting, operational decisions, and stakeholder needs
• Ability to influence without direct authority and build credibility with senior leaders, peers, managers, and cross-functional partners.
• Highly analytical in nature with a real eye for detail
• Strong written and oral communication skills required
• Structured and organized in their approach
• Excellent financial and management reporting skills

• Oracle EBS experience preferred.
• A/E/C industry or similar professional services experience preferred.
• Preference given to local candidates.

• Bachelor's degree in closely related field or relevant experience
• A minimum of 8 years relevant experience
• Ability to successfully multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Understands the integration of the people, processes and technology needed to implement change
• High aptitude for managing and solving tactical issues
• Relevant module experience in functional or technical working knowledge for modules/ areas within the thread. Can have expertise in a specific module/ area
• Experience supervising managers of people
• An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
