The Management Consulting Team at Teneo
Our Management Consulting division focuses on answering key strategic questions for business leaders through our mix of senior experience and rigorous analysis, combined with the unique expertise that exists across Teneo. We operate across a diverse array of sectors including Consumer Goods, Leisure & Hospitality, Transport, and TMT, amongst others. Within these markets, we provide strategic, operational, and due diligence support, advising reputable Fortune 500 and FTSE 100 firms, key public-sector organizations, and leading private equity houses.
Key Attributes
As a Senior Consultant, you'll be an accomplished, consistent, and effective member of the Management Consulting team whose focus is on providing expert support to Managers, Directors, and Managing Directors in the efficient delivery of cases, as well as managing smaller cases or discrete workstreams within larger, more complex cases.
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide solid case delivery support and workstream management and leadership across core competency areas: research, analysis and insight, technical skills, and case delivery
  • Demonstrate the complete case skill set required in terms of insightful thinking, experience, and knowledge across all competency areas
  • Lead discrete workstreams and manage smaller cases directly, with Manager, Director, or Managing Director support
  • Plan and delegate work for the team, incorporating leadership views and requirements, with support always available from Managers and project leadership, as well as through coaching and mentoring channels
  • Develop the "answer" from initial hypothesis through refinement and validation
  • Manage case/workstream team on a day-to-day basis, delegating and planning workload while also providing coaching support
  • Work independently with minimal need for support
  • Handle day-to-day liaison with client teams, empathizing with client issues and escalating concerns where appropriate
  • Lead presentations of conclusions confidently and engagingly and/or present the output to the client
  • Carry out business development work and form part of the wider internal teams within Teneo Consulting
  • Build on client relationships and actively coach team members

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • 3-4+ years' relevant work experience, ideally within a consulting environment
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Highly logical and numerate, with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workstreams and deliver high-quality, error-free work
  • Proven leadership qualities, ambition, and teamwork experience
  • Ability to operate at a fast pace, influence and challenge when needed
  • Ability to work independently and proactively take on unfamiliar tasks
  • Strong client relationship and stakeholder management skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience managing multiple discrete workstreams or smaller cases
  • Experience across an array of sectors with depth in consumer and TMT
  • Evidence of entrepreneurial attitude and creativity
  • Experience leading presentations and negotiations with clients
  • Track record of coaching and developing team members
  • Experience with business development or internal firm initiatives

Base Salary Range
$167,000 - $195,000 (compensation for this role will depend on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience that may fall outside of the range listed).

Hybrid Flexible Work Policy
Teneo believes in in-person collaboration when possible. If you are assigned to the New York office, the company expectation is for employees to work from the office location a minimum of three times a week.
