Job description

Job Description:
The GA - Records Management Assistant will be part of the archives team, helping to implement a records management program for Berry College. Under the daily guidance of the archivist, the GA will participate in the records management program by:
  • Appraising, arranging, and describing historical records
  • Assisting with conducting records surveys
  • Assisting with developing a records retention schedule for various college departments
  • Entering metadata content into our new digital asset management system, AMQuartex
  • Training undergraduate students to conduct records surveys and develop records retention schedules
  • Carrying out other related duties as assigned.
The majority of the GA work will take place during the campus's regular open hours (Monday - Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM). Anticipated start date is May 18 or August 24, depending on program start date.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Acceptance into Berry College graduate program (one or two-year program is fine)
  • Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with respect to records and sensitive information
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, as appropriate
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office products, familiarity, and comfort with computer technology
  • Willingness to learn additional software/platforms/tools as needed
  • Ability to creatively solve problems and develop new solutions
  • Demonstrated commitment to mentoring students and fostering a supportive and inclusive environment in which diversity and fairness are valued and respected.
Preferred:
  • Experience supervising and/or managing tasks or projects.
