Job Title: Doggy Play Yard Assistant

Location: Ruff Life Training and Resort Midway UT

Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time

Shift Time(s) 7:00am-1:00pm and/or 3:00pm-7:00pm


Job Summary:

We are looking for an energetic, responsible, and dog-loving Doggy Play Yard Assistant to supervise and care for furry friends during group play sessions at our dog boarding and daycare facility. The ideal candidate is attentive, active, and confident around dogs of all breeds and sizes. This role is hands-on and requires a understanding of dog behavior, safety, and care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise group play sessions in outdoor play yards, ensuring the safety and well-being of all friends.
  • Monitor dog behavior and intervene as needed to prevent or stop rough play, aggression, or stress.
  • Maintain constant awareness of all friends under you supervision.
  • Clean up pet waste promptly and maintain a clean, safe play environment.
  • Communicate observations or concerns about dog behavior, health, or injuries to management.
  • Assist with feeding, watering, and transitioning dogs to and from the play yard.
  • Follow all facility protocols for safety, sanitation, and animal handling.
  • Provide excellent care and positive interaction to all friends, treating each with kindness and patience.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with dogs in a daycare, boarding, shelter, or training environment is highly preferred.
  • Physically capable of being on your feet for extended periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions carefully.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must be 16 years or older

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to loud barking, pet waste, cleaning chemicals, and a physically active setting.
  • Work includes bending, lifting, walking, and standing for long periods.
  • Shifts may include weekends, early mornings, holidays, and evenings.
