UNC Health is seeking a Breast Imaging Radiologist to provide weekly per diem coverage across UNC Health Johnston locations in Smithfield and Clayton, North Carolina. This position is focused exclusively on diagnostic mammography interpretation and image-guided breast procedures.

The ideal candidate will be fellowship-trained in Breast Imaging or possess substantial breast imaging experience, with demonstrated proficiency in diagnostic mammography and breast biopsy procedures.

Position Information:

  • Dedicated breast imaging coverage across UNC Health Johnston locations in Smithfield and Clayton
  • Interpretation of diagnostic mammography studies
  • Performance of image-guided breast procedures, including breast biopsies
  • Monday through Friday schedule; dayshift only
  • No ultrasound, MRI, evening, weekend, or call responsibilities
  • 100% onsite clinical practice
  • Weekly per diem coverage opportunity

Compensation Highlights:

  • Per diem rate of $3,400 per day
  • Weekly compensation of approximately $17,000 for five-day coverage
  • Professional liability coverage provided by UNC Health during contracted service periods

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology
  • Fellowship training in Breast Imaging preferred; equivalent focused breast imaging experience will be considered
  • Eligible for medical licensure in North Carolina
