Home Delivery Specialist

The BEST person for this position would be described as someone with a positive attitude who enjoys working as a team to toward a common goal and is not afraid of lifting heavy objects. Our Delivery teams are often the last face our guests see in their furniture and mattress buying journey. It is imperative that we have people on these teams who enjoy and understand the importance of delivering our goods in a timely, safe, and satisfactory manner.

This position will be based out of our new distribution center near Grandview, MO.

Purpose of position: Ensure that furniture is transported and transitioned in perfect shape resulting in our guests having a legendary delivery experience plus a more beautiful and comfortable home.

Job Type: Full-time, Scheduled days would be Tuesday through Saturday, 7:30 am is start time for delivery.

Main Objectives:

  • Driving our box truck responsibly with respect to all DOT regulations, property, and landscaping
  • Unloading and setting up new furniture in our clients' home and being respectful of our clients' home
  • Working efficiently, safely, and respectfully with a teammate on each delivery
  • Accurately completing all paperwork (including electronic) related to complete/incomplete deliveries or returns.
  • Create new ideas that will help improve guest experience, delivery efficiency/safety, etc. share them with The Furniture Mall management.
  • Develop long-term customer relationships.
  • Develop new customer leads through referrals from satisfied customers.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Prefer previous box truck driving experience or experience with large vehicles
  • Strong Communication skills and ability to work as a team
  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic
  • Adaptability and ability to work through adverse situations

Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift up to 150 pounds without the aid of another.
  • Drivers must be 21 or older and able to obtain a DOT Health Card (paid for by company) and pass a UA
  • Possess Valid Real ID Driver's license and meet driving history requirements set by insurance company (No CDL required)
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, push and pull in the performance of operational duties
  • Must be able to sit or stand for up to eight hours at a time while performing work duties
  • Must be able to work in various temperatures and environmental conditions
  • Must have vision and hearing corrected to be able to legally operate a vehicle under various environmental and traffic conditions
  • Must be able to maintain balance and climb two to eight feet on a ladder in order to place accessories.
  • Must be able to maintain amicable work relationships with fellow employees and perform all essential job functions
  • Undertake and complete other work-related responsibilities as assigned by management
  • Undertake and support any policy, change, system, or work rules the company implements regarding the purpose of this position

Pay Range: $18-$21 and is based on position (driver versus helper), individual experience, and performance bonuses.
