Job description

Description:Position Summary

The Industrial Machine Mechanic II is a journey-level mechanic capable of performing a wide range of CNC mechanical repairs and rebuild tasks with limited supervision.


The ideal candidate brings extensive hands-on experience with CNC machine tools, troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to assist with installations and rebuilds from start to finish. This position requires frequent travel, the ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and collaboration with customers, OEMs, vendors, and internal teams.


Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for complex mechanical and machine tool issues
  • Perform major machine tool rebuilds, reconditioning, and precision fitting
  • Conduct advanced diagnostics on mechanical and electrical systems
  • Troubleshoot and repair machine tool components, including electronic circuitry to the component level
  • Dismantle, rebuild, and reassemble machine tool subassemblies and complete systems
  • Perform precision alignment, leveling, scraping, and mechanical adjustments
  • Organize, tag, and document machine components for accurate reassembly
  • Identify, repair, or replace damaged mechanical and electrical components
  • Coordinate and complete full machine installations
  • Independently plan, organize, and execute complex service calls and rebuild projects
  • Train, mentor, and support lower-level mechanics and technicians
  • Collaborate with customers, OEMs, vendors, and internal personnel to resolve technical issues
  • Maintain accurate service reports and expense documentation
  • Ensure all work meets company quality and safety standards
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
  • Travel to customer facilities with limited notice
  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Qualifications & Requirements

  • 2 - 5 years of advanced CNC or industrial machine tool mechanical experience
  • Advanced knowledge of mechanical systems, machine components, and precision assemblies
  • Strong troubleshooting and root-cause problem-solving skills
  • Understanding of CNC controls across multiple manufacturers
  • Proven ability to independently manage complex rebuilds and installations
  • Experience working with precision measurement and test equipment
  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in high-responsibility environments



Physical Requirements

  • Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, climbing, balancing, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Standing and walking 8–10 hours per day.
  • Lift up to 60 lbs. regularly (with or without crane assistance).
  • Push/pull up to 35 lbs. regularly.
  • Climb stairs and ladders.
  • Work on elevated platforms.
  • Work in uncontrolled environments (noise, dust, dirt, mobile equipment).
  • Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • Ability to use all limbs with dexterity and maintain visual/audio awareness of surroundings.

  • None.
