MEF Maintenance is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Maintenance to provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple skilled nursing and rehabilitation centers throughout Central Virginia.

What You'll Do

As the Regional Director of Maintenance, you will serve as the primary maintenance leader for multiple facilities throughout Central Virginia.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide leadership, coaching, and operational support to Maintenance Directors and facility maintenance teams

  • Conduct routine regional facility inspections to ensure compliance with Life Safety Code, CMS, OSHA, state regulations, and company standards

  • Develop and oversee preventative maintenance programs that maximize equipment performance and reduce costly repairs

  • Lead Life Safety preparedness and assist facilities during state surveys, inspections, and emergency situations

  • Manage capital improvement projects, renovations, equipment replacements, and facility upgrades

  • Monitor maintenance budgets and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings

  • Evaluate maintenance performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives

  • Ensure all maintenance documentation, compliance records, inspections, and work orders remain accurate and current

  • Develop, mentor, and train Maintenance Directors while building strong regional maintenance teams

  • Coordinate outside vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure timely project completion

  • Partner with Regional Operations, Clinical Leadership, Environmental Services, and Executive Leadership to support organizational goals

  • Provide hands-on support during facility emergencies, major repairs, and special projects

  • Travel extensively throughout the Central Virginia region to support assigned facilities

Qualifications

We're looking for an experienced maintenance leader who brings both technical expertise and a passion for developing people.

Preferred qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred (equivalent experience considered)

  • Minimum of 5 years of maintenance leadership experience

  • Previous multi-site or regional maintenance leadership experience strongly preferred

  • Healthcare, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, senior living, hospital, commercial property management, or hospitality maintenance experience preferred

  • Strong working knowledge of:

    • HVAC systems

    • Electrical systems

    • Plumbing

    • Mechanical systems

    • Fire Protection & Life Safety Systems

    • Building automation systems

    • Preventative maintenance programs

    • CMS, OSHA, NFPA, and Life Safety regulations

  • Experience managing maintenance budgets and capital improvement projects

  • Strong vendor management and project management skills

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)

  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel throughout Central Virginia
