Maintenance Technician


We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our facilities team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of our building systems, grounds, and equipment to provide a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for all occupants. Your hands-on expertise and proactive approach will help maintain the integrity and safety of our facilities.


Key Responsibilities:

- Perform labor necessary to maintain all mechanical, electrical, heating, and plumbing systems in good repair and fully operational.

- Ensure facility grounds are kept clean, safe, and well-maintained.

- Respond to emergency after-hours maintenance calls promptly and effectively.

- Conduct minor and major repairs of all buildings and equipment, with major repairs performed under the supervision of licensed maintenance workers.

- Complete daily, weekly, and monthly records of scheduled maintenance procedures.

- Perform preventive maintenance and routine electrical repairs.

- Replace broken windows, doors, door locks, and window blinds.

- Unstop toilets and sinks, and perform patching and painting of interior and exterior walls.

- Inspect the premises regularly to identify and address hazardous conditions immediately.

- Comply with all company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements.


Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience in building maintenance, repair, or a related field.

- Knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general maintenance procedures.

- Ability to perform both minor and major repairs with minimal supervision.

- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

- Ability to respond quickly to emergency maintenance needs, including after-hours calls.

- Good record-keeping and organizational skills.

- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in confined spaces.

- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED 

One year of building maintenance experience, or any equivalent combination of training or experience.

Able to read, analyze, & interpret maintenance tasks. Able to accurately & intelligently document all activities performed in maintenance records. Able to present information & respond to questions from maintenance supervisor. Able to perform basic math skills, solve problems & deal with a variety of concrete variables, interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written & oral form. Perform moderate to heavy work in all types of weather, frequent standing, stooping, walking, lifting heavy objects up to 50 lbs., handle hazardous materials, use hand & power tools, climb ladders, talk & hear as well as perform similar actions during the course of the workday. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception & ability to adjust focus.
