Job description

Towner Management employs Maintenance Technicians to maintain and repair the properties and grounds it manages. Maintenance Technicians report to and work closely with the Property Manager assigned to their properties.

Applications are accepted year-round and reviewed regularly as openings become available.

Maintenance Technicians work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm at their assigned properties and participate in scheduled emergency on-call rotations during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Technicians must have access to a properly licensed vehicle, hold a valid Maryland Driverโ€™s License, maintain automobile insurance, and meet company driving standards. A truck is preferred but not required. Technicians may transport equipment, supplies, and occasionally other employees between properties. Driving records and proof of insurance may be requested.

Maintenance Technicians enter occupied units and must interact with residents, guests, and vendors in a courteous and professional manner consistent with Fair Housing laws and company policies. Technicians must not make statements or decisions about eligibility, transfers, waitlists, or reasonable accommodations and must refer resident questions on these topics to management.

Technicians must follow HUD/HABC inspection and safety standards as instructed and report observed health or safety hazards (such as leaks, mold, pests, or accessibility issues) to the Property Manager.

Other duties may be assigned.

โ€ข Ability to work overtime, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
โ€ข Working knowledge of general maintenance systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and appliance repair.

Work Environment

The position may require walking all building floors, including basements and attics where accessible, and the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, and lift up to 40 pounds (with or without reasonable accommodation).
