Job description

The Maintenance Supervisor located at Remington Residential property in Dulles, VA is responsible for the maintenance department's operations, efficiency, and productivity at the property. The role oversees all maintenance personnel, contractors, and physical operations to ensure a safe, well-maintained, and customer-focused community. The Maintenance Supervisor plays a key leadership role in training, development, budgeting, and emergency response.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage all daily operations of the maintenance department, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
  • Assign, prioritize, and oversee completion of all service requests, work orders, and make-ready tasks to meet required timelines.
  • Perform preventive maintenance duties as needed and ensure the team follows established preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Oversee HVAC system repairs and preventative maintenance, including determining appropriate service frequency and coordinating required work.
  • Conduct regular property inspections to evaluate overall condition, identify maintenance needs, and maintain strong curb appeal.
  • Supervise and coordinate the work of contractors performing services within the building, ensuring compliance with standards and safety requirements.
  • Identify potential safety hazards throughout the property and implement corrective action measures to maintain a safe environment for staff and occupants.
  • Monitor and support the maintenance of building systems, including elevators, fire sprinkler systems, and fire alarm systems.
  • Lead, train, motivate, and develop maintenance staff to ensure strong performance, teamwork, and adherence to company standards.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • CFC Universal Certification required.
  • Current valid driver's license.
  • Five years of facilities operations experience
  • Three years supervisory experience
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and carpentry systems in multi-family housing and mid to large size facility operations.
  • Building automation systems experience preferred by not required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office application, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in Yardi - CRM or similar systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, analytical, and results-driven.
  • Ability to multi-task and work well under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent attendance and dependability.
