Overview

TheMaintenance Supervisorcontributes to the success of the PepsiCo Beverages Canada by overseeing the preventive maintenance and repair of plant equipment to ensure uninterrupted day to day operations. The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for developing trained and capable front line union employees.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure safe operating conditions exist throughout the facility and promptly correct unsafe conditions 
  • Ensure team compliance with all safety policies and procedures
  • Maintain product quality and sanitation standards
  • Ensure efficient maintenance and upkeeping of all manufacturing equipment
  • Consult with manufacturing personnel to determine equipment operating and maintenance needs
  • Oversee projects, construction, and installation activities
  • Ensure the support facilities (CO2, N2, NH3, boilers) uninterrupted operation to meet production demands
  • Ensure that the maintenance team provides timely support to the production operation and other functions
  • Set maintenance team performance standards and align the organization to them
  • Coach and provide regular feedback for development of team and improved operations
  • Develop staffing and skill building plans to build technical knowledge continuity
  • This role requiresregular presence on the plant floor

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or similar field 
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in manufacturing preferred. Preferably food/beverage experience
  • Lean Six Sigma Experience preferred, demonstrated by successful completion of a major improvement project
  • Must possess strong skills, knowledge and capability in TPM or lean manufacturing, finance and accounting, project management, leadership, and statistics/logical problem solving
  • Solid working knowledge of the following business enterprises: HSE/quality regulatory compliance, processing/packaging/warehouse operations, maintenance and engineering, ingredient and package material procurement, production planning & deployment, sales and marketing, research and development, and excellent communication, facilitation and influence skills
  • Experience developing/coaching hourly and supervisory staff preferred
  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
  • Ability to lead a team-based approach to decision making
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a results-oriented, challenging environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to get results through mentoring other
  • Effective coaching, facilitation, presentation, and team building skills
