Job description

The Supervisor – Maintenance Reliability will provide support to the maintenance department in the form of project work and assignments for daily, weekly and shutdown planning/implementation to support mill objectives.  This position must carry projects through completion as assigned by Manager – Reliability.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Take conceptual ideas and develop them into working solutions.
  • Lead predictive maintenance effort in mill to include training and supervision of personnel.
  • Manage paper and pulp mill roll rebuild programs coordinating all activities through maintenance planner and operating department.  Also maintain all records on rolls in files.
  • Establish and maintain an effective preventive maintenance work order system.
  • Fill for maintenance planner and maintenance supervisor as required.
  • Prioritize work with all operating departments.
  • Manage projects consistent with company and location policies.
  • Communicate costs associated with each maintenance task to operating and maintenance departments as applicable.
  • Work with mill personnel on new equipment installations and existing equipment modifications.
  • Develop spare parts requirements and plan to maintain mill reliability.
  • Provide round the clock maintenance support as necessary, including call-in coverage.
  • Oversee contractor maintenance work.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering related field.
  • Technical Training / Experience with Industrial Maintenance
  • 15 years maintenance experience or minimum 3 years paper industry experience with an engineering background.
  • Must understand interrelationships of process flows, mechanical operation of equipment
  • Microsoft Office

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSMET or equivalent
  • Experience with Industrial Maintenance (bearings, gears, conveyors, drives, etc)
  • Experience with metal and process piping fabrication.
  • Experience with alignment and balancing of rotating equipment.
  • Experience with / understanding of vibration, lubrication, and infrared analysis.
  • Experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

  • Must be able to work well under pressure and within time constraints, multi-task, and build sound relationships with both internal and external customers.
  • Must exhibit excellent communication, analytical, organizational and computer skills.
  • Must be capable of independently making sound decisions through creative problem solving.
  • Must be capable of working with ambiguity and change.
