About Our Family:

We are a busy dual-physician family living in Jackson, Tennessee with two young children (2 and almost 4) and a friendly cat. Between demanding careers and raising young kids, our home stays full and active.

Health and nutrition are important priorities in our home, and we aim to cook most meals using fresh, wholesome ingredients. We're looking for some support in this area, including light meal prep and preparing a few simple, healthy meals throughout the week.

More broadly, we're hoping to find someone who can help keep the household running smoothly behind the scenes. This includes helping with laundry, tidying and resetting the home, running occasional errands, and supporting the general flow of the household so our family can focus more on work, parenting, and time together.

We value reliability, professionalism, and someone who takes pride in helping a busy household run smoothly.

Who You Are / What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate enjoys helping a home run smoothly and takes pride in thoughtful, often behind-the-scenes support. You notice the details, anticipate needs, and enjoy creating and maintaining systems that keep a busy household organized and calm.

You are someone who is:

  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong follow-through
  • Proactive and self-directed, able to anticipate needs without constant direction after an onboarding period to learn the family's preferences
  • Comfortable with healthy cooking and kitchen prep, especially whole-food ingredients
  • Professional and discreet, with strong respect for privacy in a family home
  • Calm, reliable, and steady, able to manage household tasks with care and consistency
  • Comfortable working independently while communicating with and keeping the family informed
  • Warm and respectful with children, while understanding the primary focus is household support
  • Polished and professional, comfortable interacting with external vendors or service providers (e.g., lawn care service, handymen, plumbers, etc.)

This role is best suited for someone who enjoys hands-on household work and keeping a home organized and running smoothly, rather than someone looking for a primarily childcare or professional chef position.  Candidates with experience in household management, education, administrative work, personal assistance, or caregiving often thrive in this type of role.

What a Typical Day & Success in This Role Might Look Like

You might start the day by unloading the dishwasher, resetting the kitchen, and doing a quick tidy of the main living spaces. From there, you may prep ingredients for the weekwashing and chopping produce, organizing the refrigerator, or preparing proteins to make weeknight cooking easier. Midday might include running a quick errand, folding laundry, or putting away household deliveries. Before wrapping up, you may check in on the kids after school or help with pick-ups, refresh the home for the evening, and make sure everything is ready for the family's night ahead.

Over time, success in this role means:

  • The kitchen stays organized with fresh ingredients prepped and ready, making healthy weeknight meals easy for the family.
  • Laundry, linens, and daily household resets happen smoothly so the home consistently feels calm, tidy, and functional.
  • Household tasks, errands, and small maintenance needs are handled proactively, helping the family focus on work, parenting, and time together.
Key Responsibilities: Household Organization & Daily Upkeep

Help maintain a tidy, organized home by managing day-to-day household resets and supporting existing systems.

  • Maintain organization systems for closets, pantry, toys, and storage areas
  • Help with seasonal swaps for clothing, dcor, and household items
  • Assist with preparing the home for holidays, guests, and family gatherings
  • Supervise vendors or service providers when they visit the home
  • Handle occasional deeper resets such as refrigerator clean-outs, appliance upkeep, and Spring/Autumn deep cleans
  • Create and manage running household supply lists
  • Track and restock pantry, fridge, toiletries, household supplies
Kitchen & Meal Prep Support

Support the family's healthy lifestyle by helping prepare ingredients and keeping the kitchen organized for easy home cooking.

  • Wash, chop, and organize fruits and vegetables
  • Prepare simple meal components such as browning meats or shredding rotisserie chicken
  • Keep the refrigerator and pantry organized and stocked with prepped ingredients
  • Maintain kitchen cleanliness and reset the space when needed.
Laundry & Linen Care

Help keep clothing and household linens clean, organized and up to date.

  • Wash, dry, fold, and organize family laundry
  • Rotate bedding and refresh towels weekly
  • Maintain tidy laundry areas and ensure supplies remain stocked by updating the family's weekly grocery and supply purchase list
Household Support & Errands

Provide general household support to help daily life run smoothly.

  • Run errands such as grocery shopping, returns, or household supply pickups
  • Receive deliveries and organize pantry or household items
  • Manage household supply lists and help track items that need restocking
Family Support

Provide occasional support for the children when schedules overlap.

  • Provide light supervision or playtime when needed
  • Step in for backup childcare if grandparents are unavailable
Pet Care

Help care for the family's cat.

  • Maintain litter box
  • Ensure food and water are refreshed
  • Keep pet supplies stocked and organized
Vehicle & Home Maintenance Support

Assist with coordinating basic household logistics.
