Pipefitters - NEEDED IMMEDIATLY

Pay - $32-34/hr

Shift - 1st shift (OT AVAILABLE)

Location - Tuscaloosa, AL

Job Description

As a Pipefitter, you will be responsible for laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment. These systems may be used for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, or industrial production or processing.

Responsibilities

  • Study blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools required, and lay out the sequence of tasks.
  • Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble, and install metal, plastic, and fiberglass pipes, valves, and fittings.
  • Join pipe sections and related equipment, securing them in position.
  • Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks.
  • Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.
  • Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts using hand and power tools.
  • Cross-train and perform work in other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
  • Experience with pipe installation, threading, brazing, and fitting.
  • Ability to use various hand tools and operate an industrial-powered fork truck.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Pipe Fitter/Steamfitter Journeyman by trade.
  • Minimum of 1-3 years industrial experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in reading and interpreting work orders.

Pay and Benefits
