About Emil Anderson Maintenance

Emil Anderson Maintenance (EAM) is the BC Ministry of Transportation and Transit (MoTT) highway and bridge maintenance contractor for three service areas in British Columbia: Service Area 7 (Fraser Valley), Service Area 20 (Robson), and Service Area 26 (Skeena).

For decades, EAM has delivered reliable road and bridge maintenance across urban and rural corridors. If you enjoy working outdoors, take pride in essential community service, and thrive in a fast paced, team environment, this role is for you.

Although we are a union affiliated organization, being an active member is not a prerequisite.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Clearing obstructed drainage systems, performing roadside vegetation maintenance, patching potholes and removing litter and debris from the highway right-of-way.
  • Removal of snow and ice by safely using snow removal and/or sanding equipment.
  • Completion of pre-trip and post trip inspections.
  • Changing snowplow blades.
  • Performing maintenance and service work as required on equipment and plow trucks.
  • Any other duties asrequired.

Your Qualifications & Skills

  • Able to operate equipment safely and responsibly as per the Motor Vehicle Act standards and EAG's internal standards.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather; role is labourintensive.
  • Valid Canadian driver's licence with a clean abstract; minimum Class 3 with Air Brake endorsement.
  • Available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays; available for oncall work during snow events.
  • Previous snowplowing and heavy equipment experience (asset).
  • Valid Occupational First Aid Level 1 (asset).
  • Effective communicator with coworkers and supervisors.
  • Working safely is a condition of employment.

What We Offer

The chance to be part of essential roadway operations that keep communities across British Columbia safe and moving, while building your career with a company that's been trusted for over 85 years. As part of the Emil Anderson Group of companies, you'll join a culture where people are more than employees - they're contributors, owners, and leaders. Here, you'll have opportunities to learn from industry experts, grow your skills, and make a lasting impact across a diverse network of highways and roads.

  • Union hourly rate: $40.43 per hour.
  • Union benefits package.
  • Training and career development opportunities.
  • Annual safety recognition and employee appreciation programs.
