Description
  • To serve in the capacity of supporting the Director on a daily basis in all aspects and to serve as the on-site manager for the department in the Director's absence
  • Overseeing Track, Building, Vehicle and Grounds maintenance staff
  • Carrying out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues to maintain VIR's high standards of operation and world-renowned beauty of VIR's grounds
  • Supervise, manage, vet and maintain relationships of service contracts and contractors
  • Work with Director to develop maintenance procedures and ensure implementation
  • Plan and oversee worker schedules, payroll and create cross over training for worker diversity
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary
  • Maintain Vehicle records
  • Responsible for logging and tracking of all Maintenance expenses
  • Monitor expenses and review department budgets with Director monthly
  • Keep maintenance logs and reports on daily activity
  • Ensure Maintenance staff complies with all health and safety policies
  • Ability to support vehicle maintenance, building maintenance, grounds, and Track maintenance Teams.

Requirements
  • At least five years' experience in construction and or maintenance related fields
  • Reliable and knowledgeable leadership qualities that embrace working with a Team
  • Ability to work with technology
  • Ability to undertake administrative tasks such as reporting, licensing, certifications, record keeping, budgeting and scheduling
  • Ability to keep track of and report daily activity
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Basic knowledge of facility machines and equipment
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or B/BA in Business Administration of Facility Management will be an advantage
  • Ability to work select weekends as the Weekend Manager and for select major events
