Glacier West is offering an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced Maintenance Manager, with great technical and people skills, to play a key role at our Glacier West Locations.
What you'll be doing
As a Maintenance Manager you will be responsible for overall maintenance of your assigned properties including Woodland WA & Vancouver WA, and Tualatin OR, and will be required to perform routine maintenance tasks to include, but not limited to:

  • Unit Maintenance:Conduct regular maintenance of storage units, such as spring, hasp, and seal repair or replacement.
  • Facility Maintenance:Address overall facility maintenance such as roof leaks, gutters, downspouts, and siding.
  • Groundskeeping: Ensure that your properties' curb appeal meets our quality standards by managing groundskeeping vendor relationships and assisting with landscaping activities when necessary.
  • Security Systems Maintenance: Inspect and maintain security systems, including surveillance cameras, access gates, fencing, and lighting, to ensure the safety and security of the facility.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on facility equipment, including elevators, doors, and carts, to ensure proper functioning and extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, such as access control repairs and property security events, and take appropriate action to minimize disruptions to customers and operations.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment, order supplies as needed and ensure that all tools and equipment are properly maintained and stored.
  • Assisting other properties: When needed, you may be requested to support other properties to support the overall operational goals.
  • Job Development: Continuously learn, utilize, and assist with various workplace applications and tools to expand your individual and the company's capabilities.
  • Fulfill any other duties as assigned job related duties by management based on business needs.

Qualifications
  • 3+ years' experience in facility maintenance, or a related field is required. Self-storage facility experience is a plus. Experience can be learned on the job.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot maintenance issues effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety throughout the facility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with customers, colleagues, and vendors.
  • Proficient in using basic computer skills and technology, including email, smartphone apps, internet browsing, and data entry, with the ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software systems and tools.
  • Dependable and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • A Valid driver's license, reliable mode of transportation, and the ability to travel between different properties on an as-need basis is required.
  • Possess a growth mindset and be willing to engage in continuous learning, coaching, and development.
  • Available for emergencies outside of normal business hours.

To successfully perform the essential functions of this job, the employee must be able to:
