Purpose of this role:

The Maintenance Manager is a key member of the Plant Management Team and plays a critical role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and long-term performance of all manufacturing assets. This position collaborates closely with the Plant Manager, Production, Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, and EHS teams to maximize equipment uptime, optimize maintenance processes, and support the achievement of plant operational goals. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise, proven people management skills, and a continuous improvement mindset. This individual will drive proactive maintenance strategies, develop team capabilities, and ensure equipment systems operate safely, efficiently, and cost-effectively.

In this position, you will...

  • Lead maintenance operations for a 24/7 manufacturing facility, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient equipment performance.
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize uptime and asset reliability.
  • Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting support for mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, improving OEE, and lowering maintenance costs.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to eliminate recurring equipment failures.
  • Hire, train, schedule, and develop maintenance personnel while fostering a culture of accountability and teamwork.
  • Monitor and report maintenance KPIs, including downtime, PM compliance, MTBF, MTTR, and maintenance spend.
  • Partner with production and engineering teams to prioritize maintenance activities and minimize operational disruptions.
  • Manage CMMS activities, including work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, asset history, and reporting.
  • Oversee maintenance budgets, spare parts inventory, contractor services, and capital expenditures.
  • Identify and manage capital projects, equipment upgrades, and facility improvement initiatives.
  • Support new equipment installations, commissioning, and process improvement efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.
  • Maintain strong relationships with vendors and contractors to ensure quality service and cost-effective project execution.

The knowledge, skills, and abilities you will bring...

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Maintenance Management, or a related technical field.
  • 5-7+ years of maintenance leadership experience in a manufacturing environment, including direct supervision of maintenance personnel.
  • Experience leading maintenance operations in a high-volume, continuous-process, or 24/7 manufacturing facility.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, and industrial automation systems.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs that improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
  • Experience utilizing CMMS systems to manage work orders, preventive maintenance schedules, asset history, inventory, and reporting.
  • Strong troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets, capital projects, contractors, and spare parts inventory.
  • Familiarity with maintenance KPIs, including OEE, downtime, MTBF, MTTR, and PM compliance.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, and plant leadership teams.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and respond to critical equipment issues as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of PLC-controlled equipment and industrial automation systems, including Allen-Bradley/Rockwell and Siemens platforms.
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing, TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), Reliability Engineering, or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and regulated manufacturing environments.
  • SAP Maintenance Module experience.
  • Experience in extrusion, plastics, or other continuous-process manufacturing environments
