THE ROLE

We are seeking a Maintenance I/II to join our team and help drive our continued success. This role plays an important part in supporting our customers, strengthening our business, and contributing to the long-term growth of Douglas Dynamics.

This is a 2nd shift position! You will receive an additional 10% for shift premium


HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE

Successful candidate will perform highly diversified duties to install, maintain and repair machinery, equipment, physical structures as well as Air, Gas and Electrical Systems in the manufacturing Facility. Work with teams to diagnose and repair all type of equipment issues to ensure uninterrupted production. Other duties include:

  • Perform regular preventive maintenance work on machinery and equipment. Read and interpret drawings, equipment manuals and update department work orders.
  • Follow maintenance programs for preventative and scheduled services.
  • Communicate equipment status to affected departments, document all work, repairs, and preventive maintenance logs and schedules.
  • Work with OEM machine technicians and vendors to assist, repair & maintain machine function and operation.
  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues from 3 phase 480 Volt down to 24 Volt control circuits.
  • Work in a safe manner and observe all safety procedures including but not limited to Lock Out/Tag Out, Hazmat, Personal Protective Equipment, Confined Space, Electrical Safety and all other OSHA regulations.
  • Follow all company rules, procedures and policies.

WHAT THIS ROLE NEEDS
  • 3-year related experience in a manufacturing environment and 2-years training in Industrial/Commercial equipment and operating systems or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of a variety of equipment and operating control systems (example: robots, press brakes, profiling equipment, Etc.)
  • Diagnose/Troubleshoot equipment issues and replace or repair defective components.
  • A strong understanding of Air, Gas, Hydraulic and Electrical systems on an Industrial scale.
  • Must be able to operate tools including hand and power tools in an OSHA safe manner
  • Must be able to interpret machine electrical diagrams and schematics to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment.
  • Knowledge and previous experience in an industrial production environment.
  • Basic computer use including Microsoft Tools, databases and internet searches.

Work environment:

Outside and elevated work may be needed to service a variety of equipment year-round. Must be able to work on ladders and operate aerial lifts and forklift as required. candidate must be comfortable in a fast paced, continuously changing environment. May be exposed to dust, odors, oils, solvents, powders, fumes, vapors and noise.
