Job description

Alliance Refractories is currently seeking a Warehouse Helper I for our West Edmonton facility.

Key Responsibilities:

-Accurately ship and receive materials.

-Store received materials in proper locations.

-Loading and unloading trucks.

-Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

-Sort, tag and distribute incoming shipments.

-Report quality variances.

-Ensure pallets and loads are built correctly.

-Support inventory control with accurate documentation.

-Confirm inventory transactions are complete.

-Ensure all paperwork is complete to standard.

-Perform routine inspections on forklifts.

-Maintain an organized work area according to policies, procedures and safety regulations.

-Participate in clean-up of yard and facility.

-Perform all other duties as assigned.

-Operate lifting devices (i.e. forklifts, hoists, elevating platforms, lift beams and swivel hooks).

Minimum Requirements:

-Minimum of 2 years experience in a warehouse/shipping environment.

-Previous forklift experience and valid forklift certification required.

-High school diploma.

-Must possess a valid driver's license.

-Must be detail oriented and able to maintain high standards of accuracy.

-Knowledge of safe lifting and handling procedures.

-Ability to walk and/or stand for long periods of time.

-Ability to carry and move equipment and/or supplies up to 55 pounds.

-Ability to perform all duties in accordance with Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act.

-Ability to work independently.

-Ability to determine the correct tools and equipment needed to complete a task.

-Able to effectively communicate, follow and understand verbal and written directions.

-Availability to work weekends and overtime is a mandatory requirement for this position.
