Job description

The Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting the Maintenance Director in repair of electrical; plumbing; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); carpentry; painting; and other building projects and systems. 

PAY BASED ON EXPERIENCE

Duties/Responsibilities:

·        Evaluates systems in facility to determine maintenance or repairs that need to be performed.

·        Plans work priorities, obtain necessary supplies, and assess skills needed to complete tasks.

·        Assesses building systems to plan work assignments.

·        Ensures maintenance and repair work is completely safely, effectively, in a timely manner, and in accordance with DHEC regulations.

·        Tracks and logs, materials, and other resources used for inventory purposes.

·        Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

·        Excellent problem-solving skills.

·        Ability to identify issues and to determine repairs that are needed.

·        Ability to plan maintenance schedules for building systems.
