Job description

Mainframe Solutions is placing a Concrete Paving Superintendent for an active civil contractor delivering municipal paving contracts across Houston and the surrounding cities. The right candidate comes with an established crew of 6 and is ready to mobilize on concrete paving, intersection reconstruction, and public works projects from day one.

This contractor is active, the work is consistent, and they are prepared to bring on a Superintendent who shows up with a team they trust and a track record of producing results on city and county contracts. If that is you, we want to speak with you.

Key responsibilities
  • Bring an established crew of 6 and lead full field operations across active concrete paving and municipal job sites
  • Own scheduling, task assignment, production targets, and crew accountability on every project
  • Deliver concrete flatwork, intersection reconstruction, curb and gutter, and ADA ramp scopes to City of Houston and county specifications
  • Enforce OSHA standards, traffic control plans, and site safety protocols on every job without exception
  • Serve as the primary field point of contact for city inspectors, municipal owners, and engineers
  • Monitor production against schedule daily and take corrective action before issues affect the project timeline
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, and subcontractor activity to keep your crew productive and on plan
  • Maintain accurate daily field logs, inspection records, and progress documentation
What we are looking for
  • A Concrete Paving Superintendent with an established and reliable crew of 6 ready to transition and mobilize
  • 5 or more years of superintendent level experience in concrete paving or heavy civil construction
  • Proven track record of leading field crews on city or county paving contracts and delivering consistent results
  • Direct project experience with City of Houston, Harris County, or municipal public works requirements
  • Strong working knowledge of concrete flatwork, intersection construction, and ADA compliance standards
  • Ability to independently read and interpret civil drawings, grading plans, and city specifications
  • OSHA 30 certified or willing to obtain within 90 days of hire
Preferred experience
  • Working knowledge of City of Houston standard specifications, the permitting process, and established inspector relationships
  • Familiarity with TxDOT or Harris County construction standards and documentation requirements
  • Background in CIP concrete, pavement rehabilitation, and high production paving environments
  • Experience managing MOT plans and maintaining crew safety in active urban corridors
