Job description

JOB SUMMARY
Analyze business and system requirements by conducting requirements gathering sessions with stakeholders and performing detailed impact analysis. Prepare comprehensive technical design documentation for new enhancements and modifications to existing mainframe applications.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, code, and unit test batch and online (real-time) application programs based on approved technical specifications and design documents. Utilize technologies including COBOL, JCL, CICS, REXX, DB2, and VSAM to develop, maintain, and enhance enterprise-level mainframe applications. Create, maintain, and manage test data required for application development and testing activities using mainframe utilities such as File-AID and File Manager. Ensure data integrity and support testing requirements across development and quality assurance environments. Provide technical support during System Testing, Integration Testing, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Production Implementation activities. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve application issues to ensure successful deployment and stable production operations. Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including application development teams, database administrators, network administrators, quality assurance teams, and business users to support application enhancements, issue resolution, and ongoing operational needs. Participate in application migration and promotion activities across development, testing, staging, and production environments while ensuring compliance with established change management and deployment procedures. Monitor application performance, perform root-cause analysis of production incidents, and implement corrective and preventive measures to ensure system reliability, availability, and optimal performance. Regularly interact with Managers, managers, database administrators, network administrators, and application users across various departments and business divisions to gather requirements, provide project status updates, resolve technical issues, and ensure the smooth operation of business-critical applications.
