Seeking a Business Systems Analyst to support business and technology initiatives by translating business needs into clear, actionable system requirements. This role partners closely with stakeholders, product owners, and technology teams to drive solutions that align with business objectives. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset and experience working in mainframe environments or a strong willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements through stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions
  • Create clear, well-defined user stories, acceptance criteria, and supporting documentation for Agile delivery teams
  • Partner with technology teams to support solutions leveraging mainframe systems, including understanding data flows, interfaces, and downstream impacts
  • Act as a liaison between business partners and IT to ensure requirements are accurately understood and delivered
  • Proactively identify gaps, risks, and improvement opportunities, offering solution-based recommendations
  • Support testing, validation, and implementation activities to ensure solutions meet business needs

Required Qualifications

  • Experience as a Business Systems Analyst or similar role
  • Direct mainframe experience or demonstrated ability and willingness to learn mainframe technologies
  • Strong experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements
  • Hands-on experience creating user stories in an Agile environment
  • Self-starter mentality with the ability to work independently and manage priorities
  • Proactive, solutions-based approach to problem solving

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in Agile or hybrid Agile environments
  • Familiarity with financial services or enterprise-scale systems
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
