Job description

Job Summary:
DXC Technology is a leading enterprise technology and innovation partner delivering software, services, and solutions to global enterprises and public sector organizations. They are seeking a Mainframe zVM/zVSE System Administrator to maintain zVM systems, implement software, and provide technical support for system software-related issues, while also leading projects and performing disaster recovery drills.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain the zVM system procs and JCL
• Implement zVM software following the required change process
• Support for system software related issues, when on call 24x7
• Problem research and resolution of system software related issues
• Basic change management functions: ticketing, opening and closing changes, etc.
• Performing Data Security audits (collecting evidence of compliance, correcting noncompliance’s fount in an audit)
• Application of preventative/corrective maintenance PTF's and HIPER PTF's on test and production system software libraries
• Enforcement of zVM security and audit conformance
• Perform Disaster Recovery drill exercises
• Apply license keys for product products as necessary for Production/DR and Hardware swaps
• Create I/O Configuration request on demand
• Create zLINUX LPARS
• Provide zLINUX technical support
• SME in problem resolution - z/LINUX and zVM
• Lead moderately complex projects including client driven projects and internal projects (upgrade projects, etc)
Qualifications:
Required:
• 7+ years’ experience with zVM system programming support.
• Incident/Problem/Change/Software Asset Management (ITIL).
• Demonstrated experience with Disaster Recovery.
• Have SMPE experience. Have completed packaging of software for upgrade or installs.
• Interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, and team members.
• Organization skills to balance and prioritize work.
• Leadership skills to assist less experienced personnel.
• Ability to integrate moderately complex hardware and software systems.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Maintain the zVM system procs and JCL
