Looking for someone who is responsible for designing, developing, testing and maintaining software applications and products to meet customer needs. They are involved in the entire software development lifecycle including designing software architecture, writing code, testing for quality and deploying the software to meet customer requirements. Full-stack software engineering roles, who can develop all components of software including user interface and server side also fall within this job function.
Responsibilities
  • Engage with customers to deeply understand their use-cases, pain points, and requirements, showcasing empathy and advocating for user-centric software solutions.
  • Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering using various tools, languages, frameworks, methodologies (like agile) and technologies.
  • Assess the requirements of the software application or service and determine the most suitable technology stack, integration method, deployment strategy, etc.
  • Create high-level software architecture designs that outline the overall structure, components, and interfaces of the application.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams like product owners, designers, architects etc.
  • Define and implement software test strategy, guidelines, policies and processes in line with organization vision, industry regulations and market best practices.
  • Work on continuously improving performance and optimizing the application and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency.
  • Familiar with programming practices, such as test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
  • Support security practices to safeguard user data including encryption and anonymization.
  • Create user-friendly and interactive interfaces.
  • Develop and maintain back-end applications like APIs and microservices using server-side languages.
  • Evaluate and incorporate emerging technologies and capabilities to deliver their solutions and are monitoring and participating in solutions for new stack layers, often involving industry collaboration.
  • Work closely with Global Securitization Partners to understand their product vision and break it down into a practical backlog of user stories for the engineering development team.
  • Handle Development, Enhancements and Production Support in the autonomous Product Driven Organization (PDO) team.
  • Analyze and resolve issues in Securitization applications * Analyze and design application enhancements/corrections per requirements.
  • Develop and execute unit test plans and scripts to validate that assigned modules meet technical specifications.
  • Balance "doing it right" with "speed to delivery" by identifying and mitigating risk, generating options, educating business and other decision-makers, and taking on justified technical debt.
  • Handle rotational On-Call Support.
  • Lead assignments with minimal direction and escalate issues as necessary to management.
  • Be flexible to respond to changing priorities.
  • Develop a deep understanding of the product, understand the problems to be solved and deliver value to the customer.
  • Work with Product Manager to understand product vision.

Experience Required
  • 6+ years of experience in IT; 4+ years in development
  • Job Control Language (JCL) - Must be able to write structured jobs. Debug JCL errors. Understand Schedule IDs.
  • Mainframe DB - Understand relational databases. Understand, code and debug SQL statements. Understand keys and indexes.
  • IBM DB2 - Understand relational databases. Understand, code and debug SQL statements. Understand keys and indexes.
  • COBOL - Code and debug standard COBOL programs with moderate complexity.
  • Mainframe Systems - Experienced in ISPF, File Manager, CA7, Syncsort sFTP

Experience Preferred
  • PostgreSQL - 5 years of experience utilizing Postgres and writing code and SQL accessing Postgres tables.
  • Relational Databases - General database use and design knowledge including table design and key field identification.
  • Agile Software Development - 3 years experience in Scrum and/or Waterfall based development.
  • Jira - Understanding and knowledgeable in JIRA boards and user story development. Experienced breaking projects down into manageable pieces, prioritizing and estimating tasks and duration.

  • Bachelor's Degree
