Job Summary:
Ampcus Inc. is a certified global provider of a broad range of Technology and Business consulting services. We are seeking an experienced Mainframe Developer with strong expertise in COBOL programming to maintain and enhance legacy mainframe applications while contributing to modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, test, and maintain COBOL-based applications on mainframe systems.
• Analyze existing code and business logic to identify opportunities for optimization and modernization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to migrate legacy applications to modern platforms (e.g., cloud, microservices, APIs).
• Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability and performance.
• Document processes, code changes, and modernization strategies for knowledge sharing.
• Participate in code reviews, quality assurance, and compliance with organizational standards.
Qualifications:
Required:
• Proven experience in COBOL programming and mainframe environments (z/OS, JCL, DB2, CICS).
• Strong understanding of legacy system architecture and integration points.
• Exposure to modernization tools and approaches (e.g., re-platforming, re-hosting, API enablement).
• Familiarity with newer technologies such as Java, .NET, or cloud platforms is a plus.
