Drive modernization for critical banking operations on Cash & Check Management team within Operations

As a Senior Lead Architect at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer & Community Banking Operations Technology team, you are an integral part of a group that designs and delivers high-quality architecture solutions for software applications and platform products. In this role, you serve as the Architecture Lead for the Cash and Check Management product in Consumer & Community Banking Operations Technology, promoting modernization efforts and supporting a critical banking function that impacts the entire firm. You leverage deep expertise across multiple architecture domains to shape the target-state architecture, deliver significant business value, and ensure the scalability, resilience, and strategic alignment of the firm's technology landscape.

Job responsibilities:

  • Lead the architectural design and modernization of critical banking operations within Consumer & Community Banking Operations Technology
  • Leverages enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate architecture analysis and decisioning across the product family, with human-in-the-loop validation and appropriate handling of sensitive data.
  • Establishes reuse-first AI-enabled engineering patterns and governance across SDLC/toolchain practices, ensuring traceability/auditability, resiliency, and security controls.
  • Define and drive target state architecture for critical banking functions
  • Ensure alignment of technology solutions with business objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Mentor and guide engineering teams on best practices and architectural standards
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption where appropriate
  • Develop and maintain architectural documentation and roadmaps
  • Support incident resolution and root cause analysis for architecture-related issues
  • Partner with stakeholders to prioritize and deliver impactful technology initiatives
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the architecture team

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing enterprise-scale architecture solutions
  • Strong knowledge of modernization strategies for legacy systems
  • Expertise in cloud technologies and distributed systems
  • Experience with banking operations and financial services technology
  • Demonstrated experience applying enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment in architecture and engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
  • Ability to evaluate and integrate AI-enabled capabilities into enterprise-grade architectures while meeting resiliency, security, and auditability requirements.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in financial services
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills:

  • Experience with Cash and Check Management systems
  • Prior experience in architecting solutions for critical bank functions
  • Certification in cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Experience with modernization of mainframe and legacy applications
  • Demonstrated ability to drive firmwide impact through technology leadership
