Main Street Social Work is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our team in Norfolk, Virginia. • Provide individual and family psychotherapy tailored to address the mental health concerns associated with substance abuse and end-of-life issues.
• Conduct thorough psychosocial assessments and develop comprehensive treatment plans utilizing solution-focused and evidence-based interventions.
• Administer therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), specifically for patients in substance abuse recovery and hospice care.
• Maintain meticulous and compliant clinical documentation, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of patient records in accordance with state regulations.
• Collaborate closely with the interdisciplinary treatment team to coordinate care and develop seamless patient support strategies.
• Educate patients and their families on mental health resources, strategies for managing grief, and coping mechanisms throughout the treatment process.
• Keep abreast of the latest research and best practices to continuously enhance your clinical skills and overall service delivery.
• Manage a full caseload effectively, meeting treatment goals, and upholding the highest ethical standards in practice.

In this role, you will work primarily with patients in hospice care, addressing their mental health struggles related to substance use and coping with terminal illness. Your understanding of the unique psychosocial dynamics at play in this setting will be critical. You’ll engage with diverse populations, helping them navigate their concerns while providing comfort and reassurance to their families during this challenging time.

• A Master's degree in Social Work from an accredited institution.
• A valid LCSW license in Virginia.
• A minimum of one year of clinical experience, with a strong focus on substance abuse therapy and/or hospice care.
• Familiarity with evidence-based interventions and a thorough understanding of mental health treatment best practices.
• Exceptional communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and an aptitude for teamwork are essential.

While a minimum of one year of clinical experience is required, preference will be given to candidates with experience in hospice settings, particularly those who have engaged in therapeutic work with patients facing end-of-life challenges.
