Responsibilities

  • Responsible for securing and is accountable for large amounts of cash and cash equivalents.
  • Responsible for accurately controlling the bankroll and departmental records, documentation, and reports for Cage, Ohio Lottery, VLT, Food & Beverage, Racing, and Sportsbook departments.
  • Facilitate the transfer of funds, cash equivalents, etc., to and from the Cashier line, Lottery Terminals, Soft Count room, and any other necessary areas as needed.
  • Prepare and verify all shift work for Cage, VLT Attendants, and special events prior to being submitted to accounting.
  • Accurately processes unclaimed and regular jackpot transactions.
  • Count, prepare, and verify opening and closing cash inventories at the beginning and end of each shift.
  • Prepare cash summary reports, documenting all revenue and payouts during scheduled shifts.
  • Balances cashier drawers, and main bank inventory, while accurately counting/processing and tracking on daily revenue excel file.
  • Perform ATM/exchange kiosk fills in large crowds, with high levels of noise.
  • Monitor and record Title 31 transactions for compliance.
  • Receive and verify cash from the Drop/Count Team.
  • Understands department objectives, standards, and guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Casino Cage, credit, and cash handling experience.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Familiarity with cash handling policy and procedures.
  • Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to accurately identify and cash different denominations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patrons, subordinates and all levels of employees
  • Individual must be able to work in an enclosed/secured area, have good ethics and good attendance record

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
Education and/or Experience: Previous experience handling large amounts of money; Accounting background; High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform these operations using units of America money and weight measurement, volume and distance. Possess ability to operate an adding machine and have basic computer skills.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
Must possess a valid driver’s license and have acceptable driving history as determined by Penn National Gaming’s auto insurance carrier.
Physical Demands: The employee frequently is required to reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.
