The Opportunity
Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University's Prescott, Arizona campus is hiring a Part-Time Mail Services Specialist (20 hours/week, MTTHF) to support the Mail Center team. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Part-Time Mail Services Specialist to support our organization's daily mail center operations. This position is responsible for the efficient processing, sorting, delivery, and shipment of all incoming and outgoing mail and packages. The ideal candidate is organized, punctual, and able to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages to appropriate departments or individuals.
  • Prepare outgoing mail, including letters, packages, and bulk shipments, ensuring proper postage and documentation.
  • Operate postage meters, scanners, shipping software, and other mail center equipment.
  • Maintain accurate records of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Assist with interoffice mail routing.
  • Ensure mail center supplies are stocked and organized.
  • Follow established safety and confidentiality procedures.
  • Perform other administrative and facilities support tasks as needed.
  • Adhere to USPS and FedEx shipping regulations.
  • Train in all aspects of the lead mail services specialist position to cover when needed including supervising and training student employees.

Compensation
The hourly pay range for this position is $15.00 to $16.00. The final offer will consider the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience, along with applicable state regulations, internal equity, and business needs, and may fall outside of the stated range.
Qualifications
Required Education and Qualifications:
  • Applicant must have a high school diploma or general education degree.
  • Previous mailroom, shipping/receiving, or office support experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stand/walk for extended periods.
  • Familiarity with shipping software and postage systems, outlook, and Microsoft products a plus.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Dependable, with a strong sense of responsibility and punctuality.
  • Valid Arizona driver's license with no moving violations required.
  • Must be flexible with schedule during the school year.
