Position Summary

This role will be responsible for working as part of the Tooling Services Team. This role will operate various turning, milling, boring, and grinding machines to fabricate machinery and tooling needed to support the development of new products and/or processes leading into manufacturing.   

Principal Responsibilities

   Operate manual and CNC machining equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, saws using a variety of machining techniques and in accordance with material design specifications and tolerances.
   Interpretation of tooling drawings, tables and charts, verbal, and written instruction, make computations and recommend design changes as necessary.
   Perform the repair and maintenance of tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.  
   Perform work as directed by the supervisor and / or lead toolroom personnel.
   Reads and understands blueprints and sketches.
   Interface with manufacturing, engineering, draftsman, tool room personnel and vendors concerning tool troubleshooting, tool design, equipment purchases and operator training.
   Provide direction and guidance to other department members concerning machining and programming techniques as requested by the immediate supervisor.
   Adhere to and ensure the compliance of Teleflex's Code of Ethics, all Company policies, rules, procedures and standard housekeeping.

Education / Experience Requirements

   High School Diploma or Equivalent.
   Vocational/technical training, Machinist Journeyman State papers, preferred.  
   3 (Three) years related machine shop experience 

Specialized Skills / Other Requirements

   Ability to learn job-related material primarily through oral instruction and observation.  
   Must know how to read blueprints and hold precision tolerance's building tooling and machine parts.
   Knowledge of computer aided design / 3D modeling. (Solidworks)
   Knowledge of general tool room equipment, lathes, surface grinding, mills hones, saws, heat treat ovens, hydraulic presses, drill presses, pedestal grinders, and belt sanders, Trak equipment. 
   Organizational and problem solving skills.
   Collaborative / good interpersonal skills
   Ability to work safely without presenting a direct threat to self or others.
