Primary Responsibilities
  • Completes daily tome card
  • Follows and signs work orders
  • If required, completes work order changes
  • Follows safety rules

The Press Operator may perform any of the following operations
  • Molds parts using a compression molding press
  • Cuts and weighs preforms
  • Molds parts using a transfer or a compression molding press
  • Bonds dual durometer parts using a compression molding press
  • Molds preforms in a compression molding press
  • Molds parts with inserts using a transfer mold and a compression molding press
  • Verifies mold temperature with pyrometer
  • Returns unused compunded material to mixing department

Qualifications
  • Minimum experience: six months of previous factory experience working with machinery
  • Minimum education: 12th grade or equivalent

Physical Requirements
  • Stands on concrete floor up to 10 hours. Repetitive motion loading preforms into a mold weighing up to 50 pounds
