Job description

Openings available for Manager, Regional Distribution Center at Volvo Group North America, LLC in Elkridge, Maryland.  Manage all KPIs across the distribution center with clear strategies for meeting or exceeding current targets. Develop key processes to ensure the operation reaches a high level of autonomy. Implement the Volvo Production System (VPS) as the guiding principle for all RDC activities. Develop strong collaboration through regular communication: daily team meetings, weekly management meetings, monthly town halls, etc. Foster employee engagement through collaborative efforts, idea generation, and continuous improvement activities as measured by the annual employee engagement survey. Use existing data and reports to identify improvement opportunities. Foster a "data driven" mindset across the leadership team. Engage in performance management and career development dialogue with your team. Actively participate in the recruitment and hiring process, to ensure staffing levels are maintained with quality talent. Leverage best practices from other Volvo sites. Maintain compliance with company policy/procedures as required. Support other related projects or assignments as directed by the NA Director. Be a local change agent, pushing to continuously challenge the status quo, and find new ways to achieve SML NA business strategies.

Requires a bachelor's or foreign equivalent degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related field and 5 years of experience working in warehousing or logistics operations.  Must have 5 years of experience in each of the following: using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and technology; performing inventory control and management; performing budget management and cost control; managing and building teams; managing hiring processes; and using LEAN Leadership (VPS). Experience may be, but need not be, acquired concurrently.

For this position, the base pay is set at $148,227 - $196,200 annually, and where applicable, bonus eligible. The range for this role, as well as final salary offered, is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
