Job description

Founded in 2008, Magnum Services quickly became an established well cementing service company with a broad operational footprint in North America. Through those roots, Magnum continues to develop and diversify to offer our customers a unique blend of technical expertise with a history of project execution excellence. We are competent in providing primary and remedial (P&A) oilfield cementing services, downhole isolation technologies, soil stabilization and fluid services. Many of these services can be applied across various industries, such as oil & gas, agriculture, construction, roads and infrastructure, laydown yards, and retention ponds. By applying technical expertise, synergy, efficiency, and the highest quality standards in everything that we do, Magnum separates ourselves from our competitors in all the services that we offer.
Reporting to the Technical Design Manager, the District Engineer is responsible for the job design, technical support, laboratory testing (when required), and developing opportunities to achieve sales and growth targets. This role is also responsible for building and maintaining Magnum's safety, quality and continuous improvement culture. This role is considered to be safety-sensitive.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical Programming
  • Design jobs as per the client's request. Provide technical recommendation for improvement.
  • Run cement job design simulations and complete pre- and post-job analysis.
  • Follow up with on site representatives to ensure job satisfaction/ room for improvement.
  • Study and interpret cementing job execution, report issues and assist in planning safe processes for cementing.
  • Research and drive process improvement to improve programming efficiency between the Sales and Dispatch departments.
  • Develop, update, and drive continuous improvement in cement job design programs (competency training).
  • Provide on-call programming support, as required.

Technical Services - Laboratory Operations
  • Ensure ongoing and effective communication is undertaken with the Operations department, the Technical Laboratory Manager, the Technical Design Lead, and external contacts.
  • Maintain knowledge and understanding of operation and functionality of field equipment and components as it relates to the cementing of oil and gas wells.
  • Monitor documentation required for customers upon receipt of services.
  • Develop and facilitate internal training courses and support day to day learning by being a mentor to others.
  • Represent Magnum in professional associations such as SPE, CSUR, Well Integrity, etc.
  • Support laboratory operations, as required.
  • Training of new Engineers and Lab Technicians on Magnum Services Lines.

Technical Sales Support
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships; Supply technical support to clients, resolve issues, and provide technical advice.
  • Identify client concerns and areas of improvement and communicate them to the Technical Sales Representative.
  • Support the Technical Sales Representatives with meeting revenue targets and other metrics identified to meet objectives as outlined.
  • Prepare presentations and technical cement proposals for clients.
  • Communicate with the Operations department regarding to client expectations, ensuring that a high level of service on delivery, quality, and satisfaction is maintained and that contracted obligations can be met.
  • Develop Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), Leading and Lagging indicator trending, and Safety Statistics for key clients.
  • Obtain feedback from customers on products, services, and market conditions, and provide to management.

General
  • Participate in training and development activities.
  • Other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Required
  • Engineering degree, diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years industry-related business development and practical experience in progressively responsible roles in the cementing services industry or other oil and gas services roles.
  • Able to work overtime, participate in an on-call rotation, and travel (up to 30%), as needed.
  • Legally eligible to work in the country the role is based out of.
