About the Role

The Senior Director of Safety is responsible for developing, leading, and continuously improving Magnum Electric’s enterprise-wide safety strategy across corporate operations, field sites and operational facilities. This role provides executive-level leadership to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations while building a strong, proactive safety culture aligned with Magnum Electric’s rapid growth, notably in hyperscale Data Center construction.

The Senior Director will partner closely with Operations, HR, and executive leadership to drive scalable safety programs, manage risk, and ensure safe, compliant, and sustainable operations across all Magnum Electric locations.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Program Development

  • Develop and execute Magnum Electric’s enterprise safety strategy, policies, and standards across corporate, construction, and operational environments.
  • Establish scalable safety frameworks to support rapid growth in electrical construction, service and maintenance operations.
  • Serve as the company’s senior safety subject matter expert and advisor to executive leadership.
  • Build and lead a high-performing safety organization, including corporate, regional, and site-based safety professionals.

Regulatory Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Oversee environmental permitting, inspections, reporting, and regulatory interactions as required.
  • Lead enterprise risk assessments, hazard identification, and mitigation strategies across all sites.
  • Manage serious incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action programs.

Construction & Operational Safety Oversight

  • Provide executive oversight of electrical infrastructure construction safety programs, including contractor safety management and site safety leadership.
  • Partner with Project Managers and site leaders to embed safety into project planning, execution, and ongoing operations.
  • Ensure alignment between construction safety programs and customer requirements.

Culture, Training & Performance Metrics

  • Champion a proactive, accountability-driven safety culture across all levels of the organization.
  • Establish enterprise safety KPIs, dashboards, and reporting mechanisms for executive leadership.
  • Build a safety management system meeting the intent of ISO-45001.
  • Build technical programs with a focus on electrical safety and lock-out tag-out programs.
  • Ensure robust training programs are in place for employees, leaders, and contractors.
  • Drive continuous improvement through audits, inspections, and performance trend analysis.

Cross-Functional & Executive Collaboration

  • Partner with Magnum leadership on regulatory matters, claims, and enforcement actions.
  • Collaborate with HR on workers’ compensation, injury management, and safety-related policies.
  • Support customer audits, due diligence activities, and enterprise risk reviews as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10-15+ years of progressive safety leadership experience, including senior or enterprise-level responsibility.
  • Demonstrated experience leading safety programs in complex, high-risk environments such as Data Centers, construction, energy, manufacturing, or industrial operations.
  • Knowledge/experience with electrical safety (i.e., NFPA-70E)
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and applicable state regulatory requirements.
  • Proven ability to influence executive leadership and drive culture change across large, distributed organizations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, or equivalent.
  • Experience building safety organizations in high-growth or rapidly scaling environments.
  • Strategic thinker with strong execution discipline.
  • Executive presence and strong communication skills.
  • Collaborative, solutions-oriented leadership style.
  • Data-driven decision-making and risk assessment capability.
  • Ability to balance regulatory rigor with operational practicality.
