Position Overview
Madera Community Hospital is seeking a Board Certified or Board Eligible Gastroenterologist to join our expanding medical staff. This role offers the opportunity to provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient gastroenterology care in a collaborative, community-focused environment. The ideal candidate will be committed to delivering evidence-based digestive care while supporting program growth, procedural access, and quality initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive gastroenterology care, including inpatient consultations and outpatient clinic services
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures (EGD, colonoscopy, and related interventions)
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic gastrointestinal and liver conditions
- Collaborate closely with hospitalists, surgeons, primary care providers, and multidisciplinary teams
- Participate in call coverage as required
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices
- Maintain accurate, timely, and thorough clinical documentation
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology (ABIM)
- Active California medical license or eligibility
- Strong commitment to mission-driven, community-focused care
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred
