POSITION SUMMARY:
Mackin Engineers & Consultants is seeking a proactive and people-oriented Human Resources Generalist to support all aspects of the employee experience. This full-time, exempt role will play a key part in driving HR operations, supporting employees and leadership, and contributing to an inclusive and engaging workplace culture. The ideal candidate brings well-rounded HR knowledge, attention to detail, and a passion for supporting people and organizational success. This role is heavy on recruiting and administrative tasks that requires a wide knowledge base or a passion in people operations.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Serve as a key point of contact for HR-related questions and provide guidance on policies, procedures, and employment matters
  • Support the full employee life cycle: recruitment, onboarding, development, retention, and separation
  • Coordinate and conduct interviews, new hire orientations, stay interviews, and exit interviews
  • Administer employee benefits programs and support open enrollment, leave coordination, and employee education
  • Maintain accurate and confidential HR records and update HR systems, manuals, and internal trackers
  • Support the performance review process, compensation adjustments, and compliance-related initiatives
  • Assist with training and development programs and track employee participation
  • Address employee relations concerns with professionalism, empathy, and discretion
  • Prepare reports and contribute to data-driven HR planning and decision-making
  • Represent Mackin at job fairs, career events, and HR professional conferences
  • Assist with company-wide engagement activities, events, and internal committees
  • Collaborate on special projects to strengthen Mackin's culture and operations

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required
  • 2- 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar role
  • Strong recruiting background
  • Strong knowledge of employment laws, HR best practices, and compliance standards
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Deltek Ajera, ADP, and HRIS systems a plus
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
