CNC Machinist

We are hiring all levels - entry up to expert with salaries starting at $22/hr and up to $55/hr for expert level
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to program, set up, and operate precision CNC equipment, with specific experience on B-axis machines. The role focuses on producing high-quality precision components by applying CNC programming and machining expertise, using MasterCAM for program creation and applying GD&T to ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
Key Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC machines including B-axis mills and related multi-axis equipment.
  • Develop and edit CNC programs using MasterCAM; verify toolpaths and optimize cycle times.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and GD&T symbols to determine machining requirements and tolerances.
  • Perform first-article inspections and routine quality checks using precision measuring instruments (CMM, calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust tooling and feeds/speeds, and implement corrective actions to maintain part quality.
  • Maintain accurate production documentation, tooling lists, and program revisions; communicate changes to production team.
  • Work collaboratively with manufacturing engineers to improve processes, reduce scrap, and increase throughput.
  • Follow safety protocols and maintain clean, organized workstations and machine maintenance logs.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of hands-on CNC machining experience with proven work on B-axis (multi-axis) machines.
  • Proficient in CNC programming and machining fundamentals; experience creating and editing programs in MasterCAM.
  • Strong understanding and application of GD&T (geometric dimensioning & tolerancing).
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
  • Experience with precision measurement tools and quality inspection methods (CMM experience a plus).
  • Solid problem-solving skills with attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
  • Nice to have: experience with GibbsCAM and familiarity with continuous improvement practices (Lean, Kaizen).
