Job description

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Lathe Machinist to join our team at RVO MANUFACTURING LLC. As a CNC Lathe Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce high-quality precision parts. Your attention to detail and ability to interpret technical drawings will be essential in ensuring that all parts meet the required specifications. You will work closely with our engineering team to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the production process, and you will be responsible for maintaining the machines to ensure optimal performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience operating CNC lathes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Mazak CNC lathe
  • Experience with programming CNC lathes
  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles

Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts according to technical drawings and specifications
  • Perform quality checks on finished parts to ensure they meet required specifications
  • Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the production process
  • Maintain machines to ensure optimal performance
  • Collaborate with engineering team to continuously improve production processes
  • Responsible for Process Control related to the Machine assigned to by the Machine Shop Supervisor.
  • Responsible for the in-process inspection, handling, and inventory control of equipment flowing through the assigned machine.
  • Responsible for receiving material, engineering print, set-up, programming, and production of machine.
  • Responsible for hitting target efficiencies established by the Machine Shop Supervisor and Manufacturing Manager.
  • Responsible for assisting and training other employees when asked by Supervisor.
  • Promote a team environment within the department. Cooperate and assists all departments in resolving issues as related to jobs.
  • Follow all policies and procedures required by Machine Shop employees at all times.

Skills:

As a CNC Lathe Machinist (Mazak Lathe), you will use your technical skills and attention to detail to produce high-quality precision parts, CNC Programming, set up Lathe. You will also use your problem-solving skills to troubleshoot any issues that arise during the production process. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be essential in ensuring that production goals are met. Additionally, your experience with programming will be beneficial in optimizing production processes. Finally, your knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles will help us continuously improve our processes and increase efficiency. You have ability to read an engineering print, Set-Up and Program CNC Machine Tools, perform advanced mathematical computations, apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations, use proper measuring tools to perform quality inspections, move or transfer products with an overhead crane. You have Ability to lift 50 lbs. when required. While performing the duties of the job,

the employee is regularly required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, colour vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Good communication skills to effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written. Ability to effectively interpret and translate instructions to other employees in a professional and respectful manner.
