Job Title: Job Shop Estimator (1st Shift)

Pay Range: $25.00 โ€“ $28.00 per hour (Based on experience)

Role Overview

Streamline Machine Source Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented Job Shop Estimator to join our 1st shift team in Greenville. This role is critical to our success, requiring a deep understanding of manufacturing workflows. You will be responsible for reviewing RFQs and blueprints to provide accurate time and cost estimates for a wide variety of precision machining projects.

Key Requirements

  • Technical Knowledge: Must have a strong background in precision machining processes, including Milling, Lathe (Turning), and Waterjet operations.
  • Blueprint Literacy: Expert ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, material specs, and GD&T.
  • Process Planning: Ability to visualize the manufacturing steps required to take a part from raw material to finished product.
  • Mathematical Proficiency: Strong math skills for calculating material yields, machine run times, and labor costs.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with customers, vendors, and the production team.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer RFQs and blueprints to determine the most efficient manufacturing method.
  • Calculate costs for materials, outside services (heat treat, plating, etc.), and internal machine time.
  • Prepare comprehensive and competitive quotes in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with shop leads to ensure estimated processes align with current shop capabilities and tooling.
  • Source and negotiate pricing for raw materials and hardware from vendors.
